2/5/2010

Yikes, I see food commercials everywhere. During the ordinary course of the day I am not really picky because I eat either fast food (totally not healthy) or I wave a noodle bowl. But eating rice and beans for five days straight now I begun dreaming about food. I ordered Dominoes Pizza for my crew today at the office. They worked really hard this week and wanted to try the new and improved Dominoes.

They ordered Chicken something or other. It smelled wonderful and they claim it tasted great. I resisted the urge. They said "go ahead and take a piece, no one will know." I will know though and resisted the challenge.

Brown rice and Soy Sauce for lunch and Saffron in the evening.

Wondering what I am drinking? I am either drinking water, coffee and alternating Coke and Diet Coke. Usually I only drink one Coke if any during the day. Lots and lots of water.

Energy levels are up which is amazing as I have been sick for the past three days. I do not think it is due to the change of diet but rather my office seems to be a germ playground.

How many times do I eat? I usually eat lunch and dinner. I very rarely have three meals in a day. I know my mother would shoot me if she ever read this blog. ;)

The upside of this change is finding that my allergies are not bothering as much on a daily basis.

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH, BEFORE EVER MAKING ANY RADICAL CHANGES IN ONE'S DIET OR EXERCISE ROUTINE YOU SHOULD CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN.

2/4/2010

Really not feeling well and the morning proves it. I drove through Starbucks and ordered an Artesian sandwich. Hmmm it was not until I was done that I realized there was neither rice nor beans in that puppy. Yikes. Back on track for lunch though.

I routed around my supplies to finish up the rice and bean supplies that I had on hand. So for lunch I had Annie Chun's Rice Express for lunch.

This evening I had red beans and rice and quite a bit of orange juice.

Four days down and only one slip. Not to bad I think.

2/3/2010

Navy Beans and rice for lunch and just brown rice with Soy Sauce for dinner. Long day today but remained full and satisfied. I am not really feeling well today due to stress and dealing with a bug. But the upside is overall I have not felt hungry and seemed to have quite a bit of energy. I did have moments of craving Chicken Noodle soup though.

2/2/2010

I felt a little hungry today. I am usually not hungry until some one else starts eating but today I felt a little hungry. Interesting change.

I had the left over beans and rice from El Maguey's lunch. It was quite a bit better the second day. Tonight I am having brown rice as I am still stuck at work and do not have any beans to add. I always have Soy Sauce on hand though.

Did I think about other food today? Yes. Why? It was a very stressful day and it never fails that with any diet you start craving foods not on the diet. But I held tight and stayed true to the mission.

Looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.

Started the first day of rice and beans. Ate out at El Maguey for lunch. I ordered refried beans (even through I am not a fan) and Spanish rice. For dinner I made brown rice with black beans in my little rice cooker. I think I need not add so many beans in the rice cooker because they were a wee bit crunchy.

I was certainly full but did not feel overly stuffed. First day down and 27 days to go.
